Faruk Ruzimatov
Kirov Ballet
Born in Tashkent in 1963, Faruk Ruzimatov joined
the ranks of the Kirov Ballet in 1981 following his graduation
from Leningrad's Vaganova Ballet Academy. He danced leading roles
in the Kirov Theatre's productions, including Vaclav in The
Fountain of Bakhchisarai, Basil in Don Quixote, the
youth in Chopiniana, and Prince Ziegfried in Swan Lake.
Mr. Ruzimatov is a second price winner and silver
medalist of the 11th Varna International Ballet Competition.
At the First International Ballet Competition held in Paris in
1984, he was awarded a special diploma by the Paris Academy of
Dance.
