Vadim Pisarev
Donetsk Ballet of Ukraine
Vadim Pisarev was brn in 1965 in Donetsk, Ukraine.
He began folk dancing at the age of six and within four years
won a place at the Children's Choreographic School in Donetsk.
In 1975 he entered the Kiev Choreographic School where he studied
under Irina Bulatova and Vladimir Denisenko. After graduating
in 1983, he joined the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as a
Soloist, performing many leading classical roles (Swan Lake,
The Snow Maiden, Don Quixote and others) as well as appearing
in contemporary works including Cognition by Eifman and The Soldier
in Love by Béjart.
Vadim Pisarev was a bronze medalist at the Int
ernational Ballet Competition in Paris in 1984, a silver medalist
in Helsinki in the same year, and a gold medalist in Moscow in
1985 and Jackson in 1986. He has toured extensively in France,
Canada, Finland, China, Japan, West Germany and the USA, while
continuing to appear with the Donetsk Ballet.
