 Uliana Lopatkina
Kirov Ballet
Uliana Lopatkina was born in the Crimea of Russia on October
23, 1973, and received her early ballet training there. She was
accepted into the prestigious Vaganova Academy of Ballet in Leningrad
at the age of nine. She graduated with honors in 1991 and joined
the prestigious Kirov Ballet. In 1995, Msa. Lopatkina was elevated
to Principal Ballerina.
Ms. Lopatkina, one of the world's most elegant ballerinas,
is the recipient of many honors, internatinal awards and prizes
for her artistry and her international tours have been extensive;
she has performed in Japan, the United States, South America,
Greece, London, Paris, Jerusalem, Warsaw, Madrid and Montreal.
Her varied repertoire includes Swan Lake, Bayadere, Corsaire,
Raymonda and many other choreographies.
